RaBo Design is a design team consisting of Julie L. Rabun and Michael Bobo. Rabun and Bobo met at the Rhode Island School of Design and were married in 1994. Their work consists of collaborative designs as well as independent work.
Julie L. Rabun graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture. After working professionally in Architecture for several years, she went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from Virginia Commonwealth University. A freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator, Rabun has coordinated the Emphasis in Graphic Design at Carson-Newman University since 2002, where she also serves as Associate Professor of Art. Her work has been featured in a number of publications, the most recent of which, The Anglicized and Illustrated Dictionary of Design, was released by Pearson/Prentice Hall in 2012. She regularly works in several disciplines including photography, illustration and graphic design and collaborates on furniture and woodworking designs with her husband Michael.
Michael Bobo graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Industrial Design with a specialization in Furniture Design. He has worked for several residential and commercial design firms, and currently works for Kevin Adams Cabinetry in Maryville, Tennessee. His personal work includes diverse designs for lamps, tables, clocks, chairs and larger projects such as custom kitchens. Some of Bobo’s work was recently featured in Log Cabin Homes Magazine, Fall, 2012.
